They go back centuries and some vary based on different cultures and traditions. These markings/symbols are making a strong comeback as people are seeking the finest artist’s to perform their tattoos.
Why do we get them? Lol! For me, it is self-expression, an accessory, a form of art that makes me smile, as my tattoo is symbolic in my beliefs. (yes, permanent – I know).
There is such taboo or hype about how unbearable the pain is of getting a tattoo. Nonetheless, that is all a load of bollocks. My tattoo was done in under 20 minutes and I can truly say I did not flinch. Although I could not watch, my theory is out of sight out of mind. I went in thinking I could distract myself with my phone, but the staff at Wildfire are very strict. I tried to video record the whole process, however no distractions allowed. They do not allow friends or family to accompany you. If you are not comfy with this, there is a large variety of other excellent tattoo shop, who are laid back & accommodating . The next big question people ask is; how much did it cost. Did it cost an arm & a leg? Nope! Just R900 later…
Luckily, for me it was a gift
Tattoos are not for everybody, I think it depends on your personality.
Would I do it again? Yes, in a heartbeat. Lol!
But, my hubby says over his dead body!
Let’s see, only time will tell…?
