How to deal with a Horrible Boss!

It’s that time of year, when many hit the mid year blues…The weather being the contributing factor in South Africa, or rather Cape Town where winter has prepared a permanent beautiful shade of grey.

With this said, many of my friends have mentioned what adds to this low is dealing with an anal boss too! The question; How do you cope, quit? My response – HELL NO!
Anyone reading this should not be a quitter. My personal life has taught me how to deal with few mental characters. Firstly, these types of personalities are bullies and these bullies love to be feared and have a sense of righteous.

How to deal with a horrible boss, works stress, top cape town blogger, nachi lifestyle blogger, famous south african blogger, lifestyle tips, work stress, how to survive stress, ways to cope in the work place, cape town, south africa, bosses, work, unfair labour practices, ccma, bad boss, tips

I say WTF! Don’t give them the authority to be feared! You have rights and if you feel these rights are being infringed on, chat to your Human Resource Department and voice your feelings of victimization. These Bullies have fears too and one of there biggest is being called out and confronted – via the correct channels of course. Remember that you have rights so don’t sit and feel sorry for yourself.

If this fails, and you feel that the only other option is to start searching the job market, continue to over achieve at the work place and up skill yourself so that when you leave for greener pastures, your boss will realize what they are losing and will be begging you to reconsider your decision to leave.

There’s a saying – people don’t realize what they have lost until its actually gone. This rings true and resonates well within all working environments.

This is my two cents…

Feel free to get in contact with me. I have completed a few workshops on unfair labour practices and would be happy to help out!

One Beauty Look with One Brand!

I’m without a doubt one of the biggest Inglot Cosmetics Beauty junkies known to the makeup addiction clan!

I own roughly 45 lipsticks, 5 mascaras, 70 eye shadows, 10 foundations, 12 concealers, 8 blush colours and plenty more. That said, I’m pretty sure I can achieve about a 100 different looks with my collection!

Unfortunately, at this stage I can’t make a video of this just yet, but it is a work in progress and will be up soon.

Well let’s start!

First rule… Let’s not be basic!

Inglot beauty junkies, Inglot lipsticks, Inglot mascaras, Inglot eyeshadow, Inglot foundations, primer, inglot top beauty review, nachi cape town beauty blogger, good skin, make up, top south Africa beauty blog, everyday beauty looks, Volume & Waterproof mascara

I will be doing a day look. Most people immediately think a day look should be natural colours only. Well, to me blue and purple comes naturally  I have really dry skin due to medication that’s supposed to help clear up your skin, therefore it is important to start with a *Primer.

After the primer has settled on my skin I will use my *Cream foundation in number 26. Cream based foundation works well with dry or dehydrated skin.

After the foundation, I would check to see if I have any blemishes or dark circles that I have/want to cover. I don’t normally have spots but I kind of always have darker circles under my eyes. I will fix this with a *yellow cream concealer. I’ll use it under my eye and blend it onto the top of my cheekbones and onto my eyelid just to use it as a base.

I will then set the concealer with the *Translucent Mattifying Press Powder and just slightly dust it over the other areas of my face.

I fill in my brows with the *348 Eye shadow shade, yes I know it’s almost black, well I do have black brows #giggles

Next step starting with my eye shadow, for the look I’m wanting to achieve, I wont really be working on the eyelid, but more as cut/crease Smokey effect. I ALWAYS use *351 as a base just to make blending other colours easier to work with – think of it like transition colour. I will use this over my whole lid and brow bone.

I have decided to use black and purple eye shadow, with a small fluffy brush. I’ll apply *348/dark grey eye shadow in the creases of my eye and blend it out and upwards, trying to keep my lid three quarters clear. Just to create more depth I add a bit of * 391/black eye shadow in the crease and just let it blend with the lighter base to create the Smokey effect.

Now you will see where the POP/WOW factor comes in. I love using shades of purple even when working on clients (depending on what they want). For the simple reason that purple goes with all eye colours, I decided on two shades of purple. A more glitter* 440/lilac for the inner corner of my eye that will continue on my bottom lash line all the way to the outer corner. My second purple will be rich in colour. I’ll then apply* 491/dark purple over my light purple from the outer corner of my eye moving inwards till about three quarters of the way.
I then apply *Volume & Waterproof mascara to finish of my eyes.

Inglot beauty junkies, Inglot lipsticks, Inglot mascaras, Inglot eyeshadow, Inglot foundations, primer, inglot top beauty review, nachi cape town beauty blogger, good skin, make up, top south Africa beauty blog, everyday beauty looks, Volume & Waterproof mascara

For my lips I mix *36/pastel purple and *34/pink together for a soft pastel pink purple look.
Lastly I want to contour my face and give it back its 3D features that were taken away by the foundation – remember that all foundations do that, since the whole idea is to get your face one colour. I’ll use the *34 Face blush on my cheekbones and a bit on my temples. Lastly, for a bit of dewy skin effect, I use *397/rose gold eye shadow as a high lighter above my cheekbones and on the bridge of my nose.

The reason I‘ve chosen this look? Simple – I was able to use my most favorite Inglot beauty products! They are truly amazing! My top 4 would definitely be the * cream foundation, *mascara, * blush and * translucent powder. I would have loved to provide you with my “Top 100 List” but alas, maybe in a future post 😉

My all-time much-loved thing about Inglot is the freedom system. Being able to create your own pallet with only the colours you need, is truly amazing! No one has the money to pay for things you will never be using.

Show me your favorite Inglot product/s and how you like to use them by using the hashtag #friendsofMelissani on Instagram or Facebook and stand a chance to be featured in my media accounts.

Oh and don’t forget…Have fun with it! Let’s not be basic <3

Not just another lip

With the winter upon us, clothes get thicker and colours get darker! Winter is definitely my favorite time of year, for one simple reason – BOLD LIPS! I can un-shamefully admit that I am a follower of the bold lip trend. Whether its deep browns, reds, oranges or the very popular purple black colour.

Beauty winter trend, Essence lip liner, Inglot lipstick, shade 65, Essence Transparent lip liner, bold lips, Nachi Cape Town Top Beauty Blogger, beauty products, make up, cosmetics, cape town, beauty review, how to wear beauty lipstick, top beauty products

These colours work very well with all skin tones, but the down side to these dark colours is that they “bleed”. When you apply a dark colour, they start bleeding over the lip line due to really fine lines/wrinkles and pores on the skin and lip. An easy way to prevent lipstick from bleeding is to use a lip liner.

Beauty winter trend, Essence lip liner, Inglot lipstick, shade 65, Essence Transparent lip liner, bold lips, Nachi Cape Town Top Beauty Blogger, beauty products, make up, cosmetics, cape town, beauty review, how to wear beauty lipstick, top beauty products

Lip liner has a thicker texture than lipstick and lip-gloss, almost a bit waxier. Depending on your personal lifestyle, you would either buy a lip liner that matches your lipstick or that might be a shade darker/lighter.

I own about 43 lipstick shades and as much I would love to buy a lip liner for every colour, my wallet wouldn’t be too happy about it!

Prepared to be amazed…This one specific beauty product saved me from 43 lip liners and it cost me less than R30.

Beauty winter trend, Essence lip liner, Inglot lipstick, shade 65, Essence Transparent lip liner, bold lips, Nachi Cape Town Top Beauty Blogger, beauty products, make up, cosmetics, cape town, beauty review, how to wear beauty lipstick, top beauty products

The one and only Essence Transparent lip liner – This liner creates the thicker texture and barrier that you need to prevent your lipstick from bleeding over your lip line. The liner being transparent makes it useable for any and every lipstick you can possibly get your hands on. In my opinion and testing, it’s definitely worth the buy!
I know a lot of people have trouble applying dark lipstick. How do I know this? Well, I was one of them. If you mess up the lip line you end up staining your foundation. And honestly no one feels like redoing foundation!

Beauty winter trend, Essence lip liner, Inglot lipstick, shade 65, Essence Transparent lip liner, bold lips, Nachi Cape Town Top Beauty Blogger, beauty products, make up, cosmetics, cape town, beauty review, how to wear beauty lipstick, top beauty products

I just took a few photos that will hopefully help you line your lip with dark and light colours.

The beauty products used in the pictures above are Essence lip liner and Inglot lipstick in Shade 65.

“And that’s all I have to say about that”

I hope this give you a better idea and understanding of how spice up your lips during the winter season.

Most importantly…have fun with it!

Airbrush Make-up ~ Melissani Beauty Expert

Airbrush makeup – this is definitely the new “BIG THING” in the world of beauty!

I was fortunate enough to add airbrush makeup to my skill-set with 5 days of intense training. Passing with a distinction, I fell in love with the art of airbrush!

Temptu beauty makeup, airbrushing, contouring make up, make up products, Temptu SB. silicone based, flawless skin, red spots, pimples, bridal make up, make up powder, nachi cape town beauty blogger, make up blog, top sa blog, famous blogger, Melissani make up artist, south African beauty blogger, beauty blog, mermaid art

For some of us, before we get the opportunity to really learn and test something ourselves, we tend to go on what we hear about a certain something (big mistake). By word of mouth I heard that airbrush makeup feels heavy on the skin and is not worth the “fafh”…. WRONG! In short I’ll tell you exactly why airbrush makeup is worth the “fafh”, what the benefits are and when the best time is for airbrush makeup.

Temptu beauty makeup, airbrushing, contouring make up, make up products, Temptu SB. silicone based, flawless skin, red spots, pimples, bridal make up, make up powder, nachi cape town beauty blogger, make up blog, top sa blog, famous blogger, Melissani make up artist, south African beauty blogger, beauty blog, mermaid art Temptu beauty makeup, airbrushing, contouring make up, make up products, Temptu SB. silicone based, flawless skin, red spots, pimples, bridal make up, make up powder, nachi cape town beauty blogger, make up blog, top sa blog, famous blogger, Melissani make up artist, south African beauty blogger, beauty blog, mermaid art

Since airbrush makeup started making it’s mark, it was only for the rich and famous used on models and celebs. Now a perfect makeup application that lasts 14+ hours is available to any and everyone 

What I really like about airbrush makeup is the full coverage the foundation gives you, and yet it remains really light in texture and gives your face a flawless matt appearance. Perfect for all skin types – especially oily skin. Full coverage is possible with the minimal amount of product.

Finding your exact foundation is so easy as you are able to create a mixture, which matches the exact foundation colour you are looking for. Not a lot of women know about this but the dark circles and red spots/pimples are so easy to conceal with colours like green, peach and even red. These colours can be mixed into your foundation and will really give you a flawless even skin tone.

The perfect foundation in my opinion would definitely be the Temptu SB (silicone based foundation) water and sweat resistant! An example for using this product would be for all the future brides to be. I would highly recommend this for you big day. You need makeup that would need to last all day – early start to the day followed with tons of photos and ending off with a late night. Not to forget a few tears here and there.

The amazing thing about airbrush makeup is that you can combine it with your normal makeup. So you can still have that perfect smokey eye and strong contouring effect if desired. The Temptu foundations are really forgiving products and so easy for everyday use. The system has contouring and blush colours for those who have mastered the art. If not, it allows you to work on the face with powders.

Come on now ladies! Don’t be scared to try something new.

Feel free to leave a comment on this post if you have any questions about this. I’ll make sure to respond 

Review: Eternity Beauty Salon

Beauty, salon, spa, calming, tranquil, trendy deco, beauty house, relaxation, masseuse, back aliments, Flamigo Square, Tableview, photographer, hairstylist, beauty blog, hair treatments, top south Africa beauty blog, cape town lifestyle beauty blogger, top beauty reviews in cape town

I have been to a few beauty spas/salons and have become weary and in fact scared, especially due to my high expectations. Thus, there are a few factors that will lure me in; a good price, good staff attitude and of course the end result should be me feeling perfectly fantastic. Let us see if Eternity Hair and Beauty Salon (EHB) got my vote…

Beauty, salon, spa, calming, tranquil, trendy deco, beauty house, relaxation, masseuse, back aliments, Flamigo Square, Tableview, photographer, hairstylist, beauty blog, hair treatments, top south Africa beauty blog, cape town lifestyle beauty blogger, top beauty reviews in cape town

EHB hosts a warm and friendly staff compliment. The moment we (photographer Lynn Lipari & I) stepped into this Beauty House, we felt truly welcomed. Their deco sports a trendy inviting atmosphere absorbing a sense of calmness allowing you to relax and feel at ease. They are situated at Flamingo Square, Tableview, Cape Town South Africa.

The massage room area, has an automated feel of pure relaxation giving your mind and your body the joy and pleasure it deserves. I have been feeling a bit stressed and this has caused strain on me, particularly in my back causing loads of tiny knots in my shoulder area. Thus I opted for the 30min Back, Neck & Head massage. People often ask: What makes for a good massage therapist? It depends—on your needs, your concerns, your budget, and your aliments and I always say; check the masseuse nails – stay away those who have long finger nails as they will become claws on your back. Anyways, For this reason. I vote 10/10 to EBH for fulfilling all the above and ironing those knots out of my back. I felt instant rejuvenation. The massage gave me the restoration I needed.

I would love to go back again and try the other treatments. Follow the link to their website to see what is available for your beauty and hair care needs:

I have included Lynn Lipari’s review – ‘A big thanks to Eternity & Nachi for an amazing experience on Saturday. What a treat, I had a JOICO treatment done and from the moment the treatment started I was transported to another world, a world where fairies exist and magic is an everyday occurrence. This is exactly what I encountered at Eternity. It was simply magic! They have the “Seats from heaven” that massage your body while they simultaneously massage your scalp. The products smell divine and feel like silk on your skin. In A nutshell, PLEASE try them and experience it for yourself, you will not regret it, take it from a “fussy” person like me. They are Unique in their service offerings!’
