I was yet a virgin to KinkyAfro, not knowing what to expect.
I was often told of wild stories of overpopulated clubs and lack of floor space due to massive crowds.
Yet to the contrary, my first experience with KinkyAfro was a Ladies night to remember. They played the best Old School music. With Nigel Pierce as the MC, how could it go wrong?
The dress code was publicly announced as “Look Hot”
Nigel Pierce was very literal about the dress code. LOL! He was looking fly with his white outfit and sunnies.
We danced the night way and the music was off the chain.
We were transformed to the 80’s and 90’s, rocking the night away.
Tickets at R80 was so well-worth the money spent.
Looking at the VIP’s at R120 a pop, in their eyes was a yearning to be with us locals.
I had a sneak peak at the VIP lounge and it was sooo dry, but we could drink.
Met the likes of Carl Wasite, Nigel Pierce and the Station Manager Nanto Brache. It felt good hanging with celebs, a glimpse of the High Life.
My friends went mad over Carl Wastie, all wanting to grab pics.
I think I saw Wendy blush for a brief moment.
Oh KinkyAfro you gave us blisters on our feet and a night to remember.
What happens at Kinky stays at Kinky!
